CREATIVE EVENTS is an innovative experiential event marketing firm with a forty year history of orchestrating special events, meetings, conferences, product expos, and domestic and international incentive trips for Fortune 500 corporations, non-profit organizations, small business and private individuals.

Notable special events include the ’90 Olympic Festival, ’91 US Open, Taste of the Nation-Minnesota, Taste of NFL, ’92 Super Bowl events, the NFL Alumni Player of the Year Awards Dinner at the ’96 Super Bowl in Phoenix, Mississippi Mile-ennium 1999/2000, Chair, Opening Night Reception for International Culinary Professionals, 2001, ISES Esprit Award for large scale event produced for Carlson Marketing Group on the Minneapolis Riverfront 2001, Minneapolis Steering Committee for Grand Excursion 2004, support roles in the opening of the Walker Art Center 2005, and the opening of the Guthrie Theater in June, 2006.

In late 2006 , Creative Events was temporarily relegated to support volunteer efforts with the Minneapolis Riverfront District while its owner, Cheryl Kranz, joined forces with Equinox Creative as the Executive Producer of Atmosphere Events – an innovative collaboration of leading event design and operational talent in the Twin Cities. Pooling sales and marketing resources, Atmosphere Events supported event marketing efforts of local companies during the Republican Convention.

In March, 2009, Atmosphere Events received the Minnesota Star Awards for “Best Corporate Event over $75,000”, “Best Event Design and Décor over $25,000” and Best ISES Team Effort” for a Medtronic hospitality event executive-produced by Cheryl during the convention. Most recently, Cheryl received the 2009 Hall of Fame, Lifetime Achievement Award from Minnesota Meetings and events Magazine>

The principal, Cheryl Kranz, earned her Certified Meeting Professional designation in 1987, and has been re-certified four times since then. Following her corporate career successes at Business Incentives and Carlson Marketing Group, she founded CREATIVE EVENTS BY KRANZ in 1992 to focus on the emerging event marketing industry. She has served on the faculty for the University of Minnesota Extension Course granting certification to Festival Managers. She was one of the founding members of the Minnesota chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES) – an international association that serves as an umbrella organization bringing together the many different disciplines involved in the special events industry. She was part of the five-year project to develop and implement voluntary standards known as Accepted Practices Exchange (APEX), a national initiative of the Convention Industry Council.

In addition, for the past fifteen years, she has been an active member of the Minneapolis Riverfront District Programs and Promotions Board; has served on advisory boards for the development of Mill Ruins Park, and for the trade publication, Meetings, Minnesota’s Hospitality Journal. In 2002, Cheryl was named Volunteer of the Year for Minneapolis Parks and Recreation. She is currently the facilitator for the Visitor Experience on the riverfront.

As a forward-thinking industry visionary, Cheryl continues to look at market needs and trends and explore new applications that provide strategic solutions and engage audiences. As new learning models, technology, Web 2.0 and social media tools, generational understanding, a need for transparency, and new thoughts on metrics and analytics continue to be refined, CREATIVE EVENTS assists clients achieve desired outcomes by appropriately integrating new applications and products into their events.
